Entrepreneurship and Me
At sixteen years old I was searching for a part time job after school, I came across a little family owned gelato shop and I thought it would be a good fit for me. As I got to know the owner, Mathew Ciaro a 23-year-old college nurse drop out, I began to understand more and more of what entrepreneurship entails. He became fastly popular and even got into the local papers and news within about a year of his opening, his popularity came from the fact that there was only one other gelato shop in the area. The competition was a chain restaurant with little dedication to their recipes and costumers. This experience taught me a lot about entrepreneurship and the fact that you do not always need to come up with a brand new revolutionary idea to become successful but more perfect a craft and offer it to people that may be lacking this experience.

If anyone is in the Jupiter/ Juno beach area I would check out Matty's Gelato Factory for some of the best gelato your taste buds have ever encountered!
Secondly, I am taking ENT3003 because it is a requirement for the Innovation Academy, I hope to get some insight on what it means to be an entrepreneur and how I can become a better one.
Hi Sophia,
ReplyDeleteIt's cool to see that your first entrepreneurship encounters came through an gelato shop because the first job I had was at an ice cream store. What you said about company culture and caring for customers is so important. In any business we must make that effort to serve customers and help make them love our brand as well as what we offer.
Dream big and follow those ideas, maybe someone will be writing a post about you one day!
