An investigation was opened this October against the 106th Georgia State Patrol Trooper School. The investigation arose when one of the girlfriends of the troopers admitted to taking the speed detection operator exam for him. This led to said trooper being questions and answering, "I was not the only one who cheated, the whole class cheated." This led to findings of the class cheating in ways such as cadets helping other cadets, using typed notes, and answers on GroupMe. As of now the entire graduating class has either resigned or have been fired.
The problem here is having access to many resources online and using them to further their studies when in reality the students will not have learned the material. This is a problem for all Professors and schools as this can be identified anywhere as access to internet materials is ore and more available. This specific case is a problem for the Department of Public Safety as well as anyone who may have been unfairly treated by these state troopers due to lack of knowledge.

Pasco dentist faces license revocation 5 years after death of special needs patient

September 2014 a boy by the name of Tommy was given anesthetist before a dental surgery, when he was taken off life support he was found dead.  The dentist had given him too much of the drug too quickly which resulted in his death. The previous settlements called for the dentist to pay for the investigation fines, $35,000, as well as education classes. The Board of Dentistry had rejected these agreements and called for their license to be revoked.
The problem here is medical professionals being under educated as well as being too cocky when it comes to their equipment. If the dentist had given the boy anesthetic slower and in smaller doses this may have not happened. This problem is for the parents of the boy who have to know deal with the repercussions as well as anyone who may have a procedure done by a medical professional who is under educated.

Three Pedestrians hit and killed in Alachua County

Three pedestrians have been killed recently. One, a 16-year-old boy crossing the street in the bike lane. Another a University of Florida student, Denise Griffiths, crossing the intersection of East University Avenue and NE 25th street. Lastly a 45-year-old man, William Moore, crossing Highway 441 near Turkey Creek. Local law enforcement are urging drivers to be aware of the cross walks and lights.
We have so many things to distract ourselves with, either being our phones or the music playing. Everyone struggles with paying attention while driving once a while but what happens when that split second of unawareness results in the death of someone innocent. The problem here is now put on the family members of these victims as well as anyone who may be crossing the street. This problem can be largely put on University Students as we are constantly running across busy roads around campus, hustling to make it to our next class.

UF warns of fraudulent check scam, alerts students

Students are being warned against cashing checks they receive in mail packages as they are most likely fraudulent. Once the student deposits the heck, the scammers can gain access to the students bank account and steal funds from students' accounts. UFPD urges students to not cash checks that come in packages like this and to contact the university police immediately.

This is an issue for all University students as they are preyed on for being a little naive, they are targeted as well because University students are always looking for ways to obtain money. This problem can also go out to people who are poor and naive as many company's will send credit cards out the same way and hide the large fees that come with using the card. Since the people may be struggling to make ends meet they may use it without knowing the consequences.

Man accused of forcing women to preform sex act in exchange for helping friend

Police have arrested, Jesse Douglas Scott and is being charged for sexual assault. The victim said they experienced two sexual assaults, one when he drove to an empty parking lot and sexual assaulted her, a second time when he forced her to preform sexual acts on him in exchange for helping the friend. Scott and the victim met through this mutual friend, who when questioned by police suspected Scott assaulted the victim but the victim did not want to speak about it. Scott is also currently under investigation for a case involving trafficking of minors.
This is a huge issue for not only women but men and children. We do not educate our public enough about the dangers of sexual assault and how we can prevent this. Many people believe it will never happen to them or that it does not happen as regularly as it does. When in reality 1 in 6 women have been reportedly sexually assaulted and those are just the ones who are comfortable enough to come forward. I think the real issue here is how we treat the victims afterward, many victims are treated as if they may just be regretful of their actions and not that they were taken advantage of. Many are treated like they could have done something different and then this would have happened, as if it were their fault.
